The Experience

  • Giersch At Last is about making great music so people can have fun. Okay, so half the band is related to each other -- but the entire BAND is like family, and so is the AUDIENCE.  There's a bond that makes us a COMMUNITY of people who love enjoying music and enjoying each other. Giersch just wanna have fun!

Our Set List

  • Giersch At Last has been around for 30 years and played many styles and genres.  We've always had a healthy dose of Classic Rock -- especially The Beatles, Elvis and the great 70s rock bands.
  • The current incarnartion of Giersch At Last has added a helping of the Blues to our repretoir, with classic blues songs from Eric Clapton, Stevie Ray Vaughn and others.
  • We also like the challenge of complex songs, whether it be an Allman Brothers jam or a tight Genesis instrumental.
  • Most recently, we have formed a "band within a band" -- a power trio of Therese, Tom and Brian we call GRRRSCH playing more contemporary music from the early 2000s right up to today.
  • With six active members, and several special guests, the lineup, the mood, and the genre will change throughout the evening or even within a single set.

Our history

  • The real beginning of Giersch At Last can be traced back to Liam Ford, when he was known as Billy Staffaroni of the famous Milwaukee band Big Bang Theory in the 1980s.  Our own Tom Daniels was their guitarist.
  • Inspired by Big Bang, Peter learned how to play drums and sing, even sitting in with the band now and then. After playing in several local rock bands with Jeff Hamilton, among others, Peter decided it was time to start his own band.  He recruited his brother Brian and, at last, he had a bona fide Giersch band.
  • Peter and Brian played their first gig at the Boardwalk (later The Globe) in 1990 as a two piece.  It went down so well, that Tom Daniels and Kent "the Colonel" Knapp joined soon thereafter.
  • Almost 30 years later, in 2020, a little jamming with the next door neighbor led to recruiting the kids, David and Therese.  John Yadgir joined, and eventually Tom and Brian re-joined, and Giersch At Last was back.
